Right for the new year I managed to restore the missing pages and sections. So all content related to the Tenchu game sections is restored to what was online before the site hacking. So that is Shinobi Hyakusen, Stealth Assassins, Birth of the Stealth Assassins, Wrath of Heaven, Return From Darkness and Fatal Shadows restored. I decided against putting some specific content online again (for example magazine articles), to avoid possible copyright issues.
Next I will be focusing on restoring the Azuma Ninja Clan section which contained Fan Art, Fan Comics, Cosplay photos etc. I decided to not restore every single Fan Art piece, but only the ones who were rated the highest by the members. I will keep you up-to-date on the progress.
By the way I am still looking for people who want to write articles about the more recently released Tenchu games.
Just in time for the new year, The Blue Swordsman and I finished restoring the Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven and Tenchu: Return From Darkness content. That leaves the Tenchu: Fatal Shadows and the Azuma Ninja Clan section on the To-Do list, as well as trying to cover the more recent Tenchu games.
Hope all of you will have a good new year’s eve and more importantly a wonderful 2012! Happy New Year!!!
I am looking for people interested to write articles for Tenchu games we haven’t covered yet.
The games in question are:
Tenchu: Shadow Assassins (2008) – Platform: Wii, PlayStation Portable
Tenchu: Time of the Assassins (2005) – Platform: PlayStation Portable
Tenchu: Dark Secret (2006) – Platform: Nintendo DS
Tenchu Z (2006) – Platform: Xbox 360
Shadow Assault: Tenchu (2008) – Platform: Xbox Live Arcade
Each Tenchu game section follows roughly the same pattern. At a minimum there are articles on characters, items and missions (walk-through) in each game.
You may choose which game you would like to cover and what article(s). You don’t need any coding skills, only produce the content. All articles you post will be under your chosen name.
It would be great to find people who commit to bringing the sections of one or more games on the list alive. Of course I will be there to help along the way.
The requirements are that you have played the game you are going to cover and are willing to play it again to verify the content of your articles. You don’t need to be a native English speaker, but should be able to have a good grasp of it.
If you are interested reply here or email me: selenia (at) tenchu .de
There is also a forum topic for further discussion here: Forum Discussion
Throughout the years there were a number of Christmas related fan pictures submitted to the side. Fitting for the occasion I have collected them all in this gallery. Enjoy this blast from the past!
After much deliberation and testing I found a suitable forum candidate. It is called ‘Mingle Forum’ and was relatively easy to set up and adjust the layout.
For now I have created 4 forums Tenchu, News, Tenchu Checkpoint & Forum and Off Topic. Click here to check them out.
The News Forum is a bit of a special case. All articles from the News page appear there. Replies to articles on the news page should (if it works) appear in the forum as well. Same goes for replies made in the forum, they too should appear on the News page.
To use the forums you need to be a registered Tenchu Checkpoint user. Use the Register link at the top right of the site. As a user you can use the forums as well as post comments on the News page and wherever else it is allowed.
The forum allows you to have a signature. On the forum page use Edit your forum options to set it up.
A profile picture/avatar can be set up by registering an account with Gravatar and linking your Tenchu Checkpoint account with your Gravatar account. In order to do so make sure that you use the same email address as with your Tenchu Checkpoint account. It is a bit inconvenient, but it is the easiest of all options. The service is free.
As always there is still lots of work left. Hope you will enjoy the new forum in the meantime.
There is a problem with the News Forum. When I tested it on my home machine it worked fine, but here it fails to create a viewable topic.
